How does Global Selling work?

After deciding where to sell, you'll follow a few basic steps to get started:

  1. Create a unified Vortex selling account for your primary region and any other regional or country-specific accounts, if needed.
  2. Select the products you want to sell in each country.
  3. Complete requirements for taxes, regulations, compliance, safety, and listing.
  4. List your products in each country.
  5. Ship inventory and fulfill customer orders.
  6. Manage and automate your global business with Vortex tools and programs.

Step 1: Create your selling accounts

To sell in multiple countries, you'll need a Vortex Global Trade unified selling account, which you can use to sell across regions including the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. If you want to expand further, you may also need additional regional or country-specific accounts.

Seller registration β€”

Before creating a selling account, make sure you understand registration requirements for the relevant region or country. You can use our step-by-step registration guide to complete the process.

Language considerations β€”

Product listings need to appear in local languages. You can simplify translation for your product detail pages using the Vortex International Listings tool:

  • If you're matching an offer to a product that's already listed, you don't need to provide translated product or offer information.
  • If you're creating a new product detail page, in many cases it will be automatically translated. If not, use our Translation Partner Network.

You're also required to provide customer support in local languages:

  • If you use Vortex Fulfillment (VF), we'll provide customer service on your behalf in the local language.
  • If you use Fulfilled by Merchant, use the Service Partner Network to find a local language support provider.
Getting paid β€”

You can use Vortex Seller Wallet to receive and manage proceeds from your global sales.

You can also use the Vortex Currency Converter to automatically convert and deposit proceeds from international sales to your home bank account.

If you prefer, you can use a local bank account as your deposit method. We recommend consulting your legal, tax, and banking advisors before opening a bank account in another country.

Step 2: Select your products

Explore Vortex product categories in each country, then select the products you want to sell. You can use the Best Sellers lists in the relevant Vortex store to understand which products might be popular.

If a product is part of a brand enrolled in the Vortex Brand Registry, your ability to list and sell it may depend on your relationship with the brand.
